The material on this website was written by Brother Leo V. Ryan, CSV and published by the Iowa Postal History Association in it’s quarterly Bulletins, over many years. You can read about Brother Ryan’s amazing life here and here. Or check out his name on Google.
Leo first applied his business acumen in a commercial environment at a car dealership in Waukon, Iowa, where he progressed to business manager before heading off to Milwaukee and the big time. During this period, he became “big brother” to the car dealership owner’s only child, a boy. I married that boy’s daughter more than 30 years ago, which led to several meetings with Leo. He and the Iowa Postal History Association gave me permission to make this research available online.
